Matt Hodgson

A member of the Institute of the Chartered Institute of Taxation, Matt was formerly an Associate Partner with EY and has more than 19 years’ experience working with ‘Big Four’ and mid-tier firms in the tax and accountancy profession.

Matt advises companies and their shareholders on all of the tax aspects of their mergers & acquisitions activity, managing complex shareholder and corporate reorganisations, divestment, due diligence and demerger exercises.  He loves nothing more than working alongside a team of professional advisers and their client to get the best possible result for all stakeholders in a transactional environment.

Matt believes that the ‘mid-market’ expects to be able to work with one competent tax adviser to provide all of their required tax services, acting as an interpreter and conduit for more deeply specialist areas of tax.  Aligned with this philosophy, Matt regularly delivers a range of other tax services including R&D and Patent Box claims, all forms of approved and unapproved share schemes, international structuring and transfer-pricing, and corporation tax compliance services.

Outside of work, Matt enjoys spending quality time with his wife, Zara, and daughter, Nancy.  He is also a keen golfer and ultra-distance athlete.
