Professionally, Rakesh as an Applied Systems Practitioner specialises in integrating operational control and business decision making in high consequence industries. He has successfully completed his MBA (with distinction) from Hull Business School, holds an Honours Degree in Occupational Health and Safety and Epidemiology. He is a member of the Institute of Business Consulting, a Chartered Safety and Health Practitioner and Chartered Member of IOSH. He is also a professional member of American Society of Safety Engineers.

Rakesh has authored, published and presented several papers at numerous conferences including the XVIII World Congress on Safety and Health at Work in Korea – 2008, XIX World Congress in Istanbul in 2011 and the Canadian Society of Safety Engineers Conferences in 2009 and 2010

Rakesh advises organisations such as EDF, E.ON, Contour Global and Fortum on Joint Venture Partnerships, Supply Chain Optimisation, Outage Management and Operational Safety Control Strategies for their Renewable and Non-Renewable Power Generation Assets. Rakesh has worked with a number of blue chip companies such as EDF Energy, Cottam Power Ltd, Sutton Bridge Power Ltd, Hinkley C Nuclear New Build, Eggborough Power, Schnieder Electric and Centrica amongst many others.
